I just wanted to say that I’m discovering new functions and details every time I use Discourse… and it’s amazing! You did an impressive work in terms of user experience!
Did you build the whole platform from scratch or it uses pre-existing modules?

It’s an open-source platform, also used by fast.ai for example. It’s highly configurable, but we are also still discovering new features. It has so many smart things built in. Fun thing is creating custom badges 
and emoticons

Yeah, we host it on a server of our own (which is also something I like, as we don’t sell our data to some evil company), and we only did some basic configuration. But it gives you so much control over everything!
